Femme Fatale Swatches & Review Part 1

Welcome to Aussie week on Every Little Polish! Every day leading up to Australia Day I'll be featuring an indie line produced right here in Australia. 

To start off, I have swatches of some of Femme Fatale Cosmetics' new collection polishes. I know it's early in the week but can I just say straight up - Femme Fatale is my new favourite indie brand. Not just in Australia, but worldwide. The amount of care and detail that has been put into each of these polishes is just stunning. They arrived super quickly and were individually sealed in zip-log bags to prevent spillage in case one broke in transit. Sophie from Femme Fatale also included a bunch of mineral makeup samples, stickers and lollies in a cute organza bag tied up with a heart-patterned ribbon, plus some heart glitter thrown in (in keeping with the the theme of her new Valentines collection, I assume). Opening that package was like Christmas! That amount of effort makes me feel like a valued customer, and I love feeling like I'm making a difference to a small independent company.

All of these polishes are gorgeous but I'm going to have to say that Keeper of the Grove is my favourite. Apparently all Femme Fatale polishes are loosely inspired by World of Warcraft, which is why they all have such creative names. I know this sounds lame, but the names are all so cool. I mean, Keeper of the Grove? Lucent Amatrine? How cool is that?

Anyway, Keeper of the Grove is a lime green sheer jelly base, packed full of holographic green and gold micro and multi sized hex glitter, pink hex glitter, blue and pink dots, and pale pink hearts. I love this combination of colours. It's so summery and fresh! These swatches are 3 dabbled coats.

The formula on all of these polishes are equally great, so I'm just going to say it once here to avoid repeating myself. The glitter payoff is fantastic, I didn't need to fish for any glitters and it dried quickly. They have the perfect consistency, but like all glitters I would recommend waiting for a couple of minutes before applying the next coat to avoid dragging. The finish was a bit bumpy, not too bad for a glitterbomb, and easily smoothed out with 2 coats of Seche Vite.

One coat over A-England Dragon (index and ring) and Ulta3 Corsican Rose (middle and pinky)

Gilded Rose is part of the Valentines trio. It's a crazy pretty combination of multisized gold, rose and garnet glitters in a variety of shapes, in a clear base. It's so elegant and looks great on its own or layered. This is 3 dabbled coats.

One coat over Nails Inc Kensington High Street (index and ring) and  A-England Iseult (middle and pinky)

Fatal Attraction is another one of the Valentines Trio polishes. It's a deep magenta jelly that is quite similar to Butter London Fiddlesticks, but it has scattered holographic particles. The blue flash of the holo particles contrasts really nicely against the pink. It's a shame it was overcast all day because I really wanted to see the holo sparkle! This one dries a bit rough, but nothing that a coat of two of top coat can't fix. This is 3 coats.

Lucent Amatrine is a combination of different sizes, shapes and shades of purple, burgundy, iridescent blue and gold glitters, in a clear base. This is 3 dabbled coats.

One coat over b by Bloom New York  (index and ring) and Ulta3 Lilac Bloom (middle and pinky)

Each of these polishes are so complex it's almost impossible to identify all the different glitters in them. But all of these combinations are beautiful and perfect! I'm so impressed with these Femme Fatale Cosmetics polishes, and I can't wait to swatch the other half of my order.
